Company

1838 – The year in which such famous personalities as the composer Georges Bizet and aviation pioneer Count Ferdinand von Zeppelin were born. But this year also stands for a family with a long tradition. Ferdinand Godina founded his company in 1838.

Godina’s Söhne is therefore one of the oldest goldsmiths in Vienna and was also known for a long time as a first-class training center. Well-known graduates of the “Godina School” include the renowned jeweler Kommerzialrat Wilfried Haas and the jewelry designer Sven Boltenstern, to name but a few.

More than 160 years have passed since the company was founded and it is still family-owned. It is now run by the 4th generation.

The workshop has always been located at Papagenogasse 5 in Vienna’s 6th district. The company is located directly next to the Theater an der Wien. The beautiful building with its pretty courtyard also has a lot of history to offer, especially as the famous painter Ernst Fuchs also stayed here in his younger years.
The renovation of the building, which was carried out in accordance with all the guidelines for the protection of historical monuments, was even awarded first prize by the Urban Renewal Fund.

Today, the Godina company supplies jewelers and jewelry retailers in Austria and Holland and offers collections from other jewelry manufacturers in addition to its own creations.
